Wotif transforms street furniture into bucket list holidays

Online travel site Wotif listened to the kids of Australia in its latest JCDecaux campaign to fuel wunderlust across the country. After asking parents their kids’ dream Australian travel experience to tick off before they turn 13, Wotif worked with JCDecaux to transform Street Furniture locations into simulations of holiday destinations.

The campaign, which ran across key locations in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney transformed bus shelters in each location to represent a different kids bucket list holiday.

A bus shelter at Sydney’s Bondi Beach was transformed into a theme park, complete with fairy floss scent released by motion sensor, audio clips of theme park sounds and a rollercoaster themed decal.

In Melbourne, a tram shelter on St Kilda Road was converted into a dream beach holiday, with a showcase panel of the very best beach activities, projections of waves lapping on the shore and even the scent of sunscreen. While in Brisbane, the Great Barrier Reef brought to life with an aquarium special build full of bubbles and coral.

As we look to domestic tourism during lockdowns across Australia, this campaign spoke to the hopes and dreams of many.
